It's all about construction

Medical Gas Systems

Medical gas systems use argon, oxygen, helium, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, medical air, nitrous oxide, medical air, vacuum, etc. They include products like air plants, vacuum plants, manifolds, alarms (master, area, and combination alarms), monitors (dew point monitors, carbon monoxide monitors), valves and valve boxes, outlets, and headwalls. Air plants, for example, are used to power ventilators, to blend with water, for pediatric croup tents, for supplied air respirators for staff and in neonatal life supports, air-halogen anesthesia, hyperbaric chambers, general respiratory therapy, and many other critical care applications.

Because of the critical functions of medical gas systems there are many companies offering evaluation programs to health or medical institutions. A program may provide outlet inlet inspection, zone valves inspection, area alarm inspection, master alarm inspection, gaseous purity and concentration, gas manifold inspection, air compressor and accessories, and piping. An entire medical gas system may be evaluated for code compliance and patient safety issues.
