It's all about construction

Mechanical Insulation

One way to maintain structural integrity is by mechanical insulation. It involves the use of materials and devices to cover other building materials to reduce the effects of stress or damage caused by vibration or seismic force. Mechanical insulation also involves the prevention of corrosion by interior water penetration. Leaking of dangerous elements like methane gas may also be prevented by mechanical insulation.

Products used for mechanical insulation are made of non-conductors and non-corrodible materials. There are rubber insulation products and thermal insulation products in forms like jackets, valves, and cables.

Mechanical insulation products include metal/PVC fitting covers, flexible closed cell insulations, and protective coverings, air-handling systems duct wrap, calcium silicate, and cellular glass. Pipe insulation is common in commercial industries; backer rods in construction and waterproofing markets; custom tubing, padding, packaging for automotive, mattress, play yard equipment for industrial markets.

Mechanical insulation specialists install insulation systems in projects like storage tanks, spheres, exchangers, evaporators, process pipes, refrigeration systems, turbines, and boilers. They work with owners, architects, engineers, and mechanical contractors in industrial projects that range from powerhouses to dairies. Mechanical insulation companies serve paper mills, hospitals, schools, government facilities, manufacturing firms, and high-rise mega resorts.
